Captain Muhtar Shaibu UsmanDirector General
Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority
Driving the regulatory body responsible for aviation in Nigeria, Captain Usman is the catalyst behind NCAA’s strategy to change the way airports across the continent achieve aviation security and world-class operations.
Captain Usman is responsible for how the authority has deployed more inspectors to monitor activities of the nation’s airlines, particularly at the ramp areas.
These measures are essential to enhance safety and restore confidence in the country’s aviation sector. Under his leadership, two of Nigeria’s busiest and strategic airports, the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, were certified in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
